My concern is that Roxanne didn't relay the nuances of hiring a nurse, and the cost of that expense and that that person will be sucked into the union, as an IA contract member.

I recall that I said I would check with Jennifer Hoffman and others on the EOC team about what type of professional should be used to be the "health agent". They were unified in their belief that it should not be an Instructional Assistant. They offered that it could be a school nurse or someone reporting to Pam Owen. There is, apparently, a program offered to municipalities by the GCC Nursing Program that places student nurse "interns" in various positions associated with a community's municipal health program. They suggested that we contact them to see if we could use one or more of their interns.
